How do I get to Walt Disney World Resort from the Orlando International Airport?

Your best option is to use Disney’s Magical Express Service. With Disney’s Magical Express Service, your vacation starts the moment you land at Orlando International Airport:

  • Don’t bother picking up your luggage when you arrive; Disney takes you from the airport to check-in, while your bags go from the plane to your room.
  • Save on transportation costs, tolls, parking, and more - the service is complimentary.
  • Enjoy comfortable transportation to and from the airport in air-conditioned motorcoaches.
  • When your stay is over, you and your bags are whisked back from your Disney Resort hotel to the airport.
  • Book at least 10 days in advance.
  • Pet carriers are not included.
What are the driving routes to Walt Disney World Resort?

If you're traveling by car, it's easy to find the Walt Disney World Resort. We're located southwest of Orlando, off Interstate 4, west of the Florida Turnpike. Routes from some major US cities:

What are the driving routes to the Walt Disney World Resort from within Florida?

Walt Disney World Resort is located southwest of Orlando, off Interstate 4, west of the Florida Turnpike. Routes from some major Florida starting points:

  • From Interstate 95, U.S. Highway 1 or southbound on the Florida Turnpike: take I-4 West to Walt Disney World Resort Exits
  • From southbound Interstate 75: take the Florida Turnpike South to Interstate 4 West to Walt Disney World Resort Exits
  • From northbound on the Florida Turnpike: take Osceola Parkway which connects with U.S. Highway 192 and the Walt Disney World Resort
  • From the Daytona area: take I-4 West to Walt Disney World Resort Exits
  • From the Tampa area: take I-4 East to Walt Disney World Resort Exits
  • From Miami/Ft. Lauderdale: take the Florida Turnpike North to Osceola Parkway West (Exit 249) to Walt Disney World Resort Exits

How do I get around within the Walt Disney World Resort?

There are many modes of transportation within the Walt Disney World Resort, including Bus, Boat and Monorail. A rundown of transportation within the resort:

 

By Bus:

  • Most areas of the Walt Disney World Resort are accessible by bus from other areas within the Resort, including Theme Parks*, Water Parks, the Disney Resorts and the Downtown Disney®area. Buses travel on routes throughout the Resort and do not provide direct service between all destinations. *Magic Kingdom® Park is not accessible by bus from Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Polynesian Resort. These Resorts provide monorail transportation to the park.

 

By Boat:

  • The Magic Kingdom® Park is accessible by water launch from Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The Disney ferryboats connect the Magic Kingdom Park to the Transportation and Ticket Center (adjacent to Magic Kingdom Park parking).
  • Epcot® and Disney's Hollywood Studios®  are accessible by boat from Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Villas Resort, Disney's Yacht Club and Disney's Beach Club Resorts and the Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotels.
  • Downtown Disney® is accessible by ferryboat from Disney's Port Orleans Resort and Disney's Old Key West Resort.

 

By Monorail:

  • Disney's Monorail runs between the Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center (adjacent to the Magic Kingdom Park parking lot). A connecting Monorail takes Guests from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Epcot®.

Disney's Magical Express FAQs

Disney's Magical Express Transportation is our way of helping you reach your meeting destination stress-free and focused. Disney's Magical Express picks you up and takes you from Orlando International Airport to your Disney Resort hotel, while our luggage service delivers your bags from the plane to your room. Departing is also a breeze with our Resort Airline Check-in Service and return transportation to the Orlando International Airport

How do I make a reservation for Disney’s Magical Express Service?

If you already have confirmed your room reservations, call (407) 827-6777 or use our convenient online form.  Please provide the information at least 30 days prior to arrival.

Can I book transportation upon arrival at the airport?

No. You must book your Disney's Magical Express reservation prior to arrival to fully benefit from the service and take advantage of complimentary luggage delivery to your Resort room. We recommend providing information at least 30 days prior to arrival.

While staying at my Disney Resort hotel, can I book return transportation to the airport?

Yes. You can book return transportation to the airport by calling the Disney's Magical Express Service Center at (866) 599-0951.

What if I change my airline flights?

If you already have confirmed your room reservations, call 1-407-827-6777 or use our convenient online form. Please provide the information at least 30 days prior to arrival.

Where is the pickup location for motorcoach transportation at the airport?

You will be directed to Disney's Magical Express Welcome Center located on Level One in Terminal B.

What are the hours of operation for Disney's Magical Express Welcome Center at the airport?

The hours are 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., but those hours will be extended to meet the flights of all Guests who have booked Disney's Magical Express service, even if a flight is scheduled to arrive after 11:00 p.m.

How many stops will the motorcoach make between the airport and my Resort hotel?

 Up to 3 to 4 stops are possible.

How will I know what time the motorcoach leaves from my Resort hotel to the airport?

This is typically 3 hours prior to your flight departure for domestic flights and 4 hours prior to your flight departure for international flights.

What is the travel time from the airport?

Once you depart the airport, the travel time to your Walt Disney World Resort will be approximately 45-75 minutes.

When will I receive my Disney's Magical Express information with luggage tags?

Depending on when you make a reservation, a United States or Canada resident will receive Disney's Magical Express information and luggage tags 2 to 3 weeks prior to arrival.

What if I have a Disney's Magical Express reservation but do not receive my Disney's Magical Express information?

 If you have a Disney's Magical Express reservation but do not receive your booklet before you depart to the Walt Disney World Resort, you will still be eligible to participate in Disney's Magical Express service. Once you arrive at Orlando International Airport, please see the Disney Representative at Disney's Magical Express Welcome Center (B Side, Level One of the Main Terminal) and we will assist you. Luggage delivery service provided by Disney's Magical Express is available for flights arriving between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm daily. For airport arrivals after 10:00 pm, Guests may collect their luggage at Baggage Claim and transport it with them on the motorcoach.

What if I miss my flight? Where will my luggage go?

If you check your luggage in time to make your originally scheduled flight, your bags are likely to make it to Orlando International Airport as scheduled, even if you miss your flight. Disney representatives will pull the bags and wait for you to arrive before forwarding them to your Resort hotel.

If I am arriving in the late evening should I pick up my luggage?

Luggage delivery service provided by Disney's Magical Express is available for flights arriving between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm daily. For airport arrivals after 10:00 pm, Guests may collect their luggage at Baggage Claim and transport it with them on the motorcoach.

When will my luggage arrive in my room?

Your luggage will travel separately from you and may take up to 3 hours after resort arrival to be delivered to your room;however, you do not need to be in your room at the time of the delivery.

If I'm checking my luggage, do I need to bring anything with me on the plane?

Yes. We strongly encourage all Guests to bring a carry-on with essentials such as medications, valuables and other items they may need within a few hours of arrival. Additionally, please be prepared to present your Disney's Magical Express booklet to a Disney representative upon arrival at Orlando International Airport.

What is Resort Airline Check-in?

This service offers Resort Airline Check-In, allowing you to check your luggage and receive your airline boarding pass at the Resort hotel. At this time, resort airline check-in service is only available for guests flying domestically on the following airlines: AirTran Airways, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airways, and US Airways.

What do I do with my luggage if I'm not using the Resort Airline Check-In service?

Please take your luggage with you on the motorcoach or other transportation you have arranged to return to the airport.

Where are the Resort Airline Check-in Desks located?

The dedicated check-in desk will be located in or near the lobby or outside the Resort hotel entrance.

What are the hours of operation for the Resort Airline Check-in Desk?

5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Do I need to ride the Disney's Magical Express motorcoach to the airport in order to participate in the Resort Airline Check-in?

No. After utilizing the Resort Airline Check-in service, you can either take advantage of the complimentary motorcoach transportation to the airport or arrange your own private transportation. Your checked luggage will be transported to the airport regardless of which transportation option you choose.

How early can I check-in for my flight using the Resort Airline Check-in Service?

You may check in up to 12 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure time.

How far in advance of the scheduled flight time do I need to check-in using the Resort Airline Check-in Service?

You must check in no less than 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure time.

If I am departing for an international destination, can I use this Resort Airline Check-in service?

No. You will need to check-in at Orlando International Airport. At this time, this service is only available for guests departing for domestic locations including Puerto Rico.

Can I pay my airline luggage fees at the Resort?

No. Guests who need to pay their luggage fees will need to call Baggage Airline Guest Services at (407) 284-1231 between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm prior to checking in at the Resort Airline Check-In desk.
